From our archived blog:
We've definitely gone a bit to long without an update on here! If you are following us on facebook, you've seen a few statuses about our progress in the application process, but I thought I would sum up where we are on here to put it all in one place. As I mentioned in this post, David and I completed our general application a few weeks ago. It was intense, but a great opportunity to spend time thinking through and articulating who we are, why we feel called to work with Wycliffe, and not only what we believe, but why we believe it. From there, our PA (Personnel Administrator) needed to review everything that we submitted. He was working with another couple who was slotted for an earlier Equip session though, so he couldn't work on it immediately. Another good lesson in waiting! We stayed busy though getting ready for a yard sale. We aren't ready to get rid of everything, obviously, but we have lots of surplus around here, and plenty of things that we know we can live without now. We've started trying to look at everything and decide if we love it enough to take it all the way around the world! The yard sale was last weekend, and although we didn't make it through even a fraction of the stuff we need to go through, we were able to sell quite a few things, and donated most of the rest. We were thankful for the amount we made, as it puts us even closer to having the funds needed for Equip. The yard sale was Friday and Saturday, and we were so excited to find out around that same time that our PA was able to start working on our application. He finished reviewing everything, which means we are able to move onto the next part of the process! Tomorrow afternoon we will have our initial interview with our PA. We would love your prayers for peace, for wisdom for both us and the PA, that God's will would be evident to all of us, and also that the kids will all be cooperative!
