Our application with Wycliffe is moving right along. We had our initial interview with our PA (Personnel Administrator) on Friday. The meeting went very well! Now we have only the following things to complete our application:
- An interview with our church leadership.
- A few more items within the realm of technical evaluation. Not sure of all the details just yet, but at very least a conversation with a domain coordinator of IT.
- Our membership interview. This one is the big one. So far all of our interviews Melissa and I have done together. This one we will have separate interviews.
- The PA will then talk with our church leadership.
- Then a decision is made whether they will offer to us a candidacy for membership.
- Pre-field steps (there are three or four, but mostly in the realm of choosing an assignment and then planning for it).
- Offer of membership and acceptance.
Then it's on to:
- Medical Clearance.
- Training (lots of it too!)
- Raising support.
- More training.
- Did I mention training?
- That we would be transparent.
- That we and our PAs, recruiters, technology experts, and all the other people we don't know about, would have wisdom.
- That we would not be discouraged about the size of this list. It is big, but one step at a time we will see it through with God's help.
